Ceremony Sounds

Choosing the right sounds for your wedding is akin to finding the perfect accessories to match your wedding dress.  It adds color and ambiance.  It speaks to who you and your fiancé are as a couple.  And although the majority of the music is offered at the reception, the music at the ceremony can be an exciting way to add a bit of personality to the vows.  We have compiled some example of the latest trends and ideas.  You can find excellent musicians and DJ's to meet any of these offering at the click of a mouse at OneTwoIDo.com.

Traditional
For over one hundred years, brides in western cultures have met their grooms at the alter with the sounds of the Wagner's Bridal Chorus (Here comes the bride). It is a mainstay and a traditional element that most brides keep regardless of the theme or style of the rest of the music.  Take a look at some of our excellent harpist, quartets and pianist vendors and choose from offerings such as Greensleeves, Pachelbel's Canon and the Wedding March by Mendelssohn to continue on the traditional style.

Contemporary
For a more modern ceremony, a DJ is a perfect choice. Work in songs that have meaning to you as couple or that are of sentimental value to your families.  Here are some of the hottest contemporary wedding songs:

   Marry Me – Train
   White Sky- Vampire Weekend
   Everything - Michael Buble
   1,2,3,4 - The Plain White T's
Today Was a Fairytale - Taylor Swift

Cultural
One of the best ways to add a bit of a personal touch to the ceremony is to choose a cultural theme.  Bagpipes, jazz quartets and guitarist can play everything from cultural favorites to traditional mainstays to the latest hits all with a personal air.

3.  Use loads of candles to add a cozy feel to the reception and wedding.

4.  Mix up different color ties and sashes for the bridal party.

5.  Give seasonal fruit as party favors. Check out this version from Martha Stewart Weddings for inspiration.

Here at OneTwoIDo.com we are all about taking some of the stress out of planning your wedding.  We also happen to be fans of great deals, so with those two things in mind we set out to find the three most useful wedding smartphone apps that will not cost you a cent.

Finding the perfect dress is as easy as one, two, three with this clever little app from wedding website giant TheKnot.com.  Sort through dresses by body type, price, style, personality or designer and then locate a local salon that carries each dress once your list is narrowed down.
Format: Apple  & Android coming soon

This App really is a genius!  It serves as a task tracker, idea folder, reminder and can even allow the user to email tasks directly from the app.  You can browse the magazine’s vast collection of rings, honeymoon locations and dress ideas. And best of all, you can easily save all your favorites in folders and access them at the touch of your fingertips.
Format: Apple

Budgeting a wedding can be simply overwhelming sometimes.  A recent survey found that almost 80 percent of couples ended up going over budget!  With this app in your pocket, you can keep track of all your expenses, get red alerts to see which items are over budget and view your budget in a graphical breakdown.

Five Favorite Moments from the Dallas Bridal Show

OneTwoIDo.com founder Amy Alsaffar at bridal show booth.
Our premier at the Dallas Bridal Show was such an exciting way to hold our virtual ribbon cutting.  We met loads of beautiful brides, good-sported grooms, excited mothers and devoted bridesmaids.  With that in mind, this week we thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite moments.

Future Trophy….. Husbands?
Yes, we saw them!  They do exist!  Some were loyally carrying around give-a-way bags and others were actively shopping along side their bride.  Our favorite, however, was the big guy wearing the tiara and veil as he followed behind his fiancée.  Talk about love!

Stress-free? You bet!
One of the brides that visited with us exclaimed, “Wow, you guys need to rename your site to stress-free wedding.com!” And while we completely agree that our site takes the stress out of planning a wedding in DFW, we are pretty fond of OneTwoIDo.com.

Who doesn’t want to win a prize?
We had some great prizes: a chance to win free flowers for your wedding, purse mirrors, t-shirts and the cutest totes.  While there were a few holdouts that were not into spinning the prize wheel, most brides walked away with a smile and a sweet gift from OneTwoIDo.com.

Lessons learned from bad carpet math.
This was our first bridal show and just like most firsts we had a few hiccups.  Note to selves: 10x10 carpet requirement cannot be achieved by purchasing two 5x7 pre-cut rugs.  We learned so much each passing minute and we believe learning is the key to building a trustworthy company.

Making New Friends
We loved meeting you all!  It was so cool to hear your stories and share in your excitement.  We wish each of you a beautiful wedding day and a blessed future.

Did you have a favorite moment?  Please share them with us in the comment section below.

Five Tips for Adding Personal Touches to Your Wedding

Between planning every last detail of the ceremony and throwing a divine reception, much of what makes you unique as a couple can get lost.  Not too worry!  We have created a cheat sheet for the top five ways you can add those personal touches back and make your day unique and sentimental.

1. Embrace Your Personality.  Are you the class clown, a college football fanatic or a devout dog lover?  Place your personalities front and center.  Consider your college color when choosing a color palate or make your pooch the ring bearer.  Staying true to you is the key to an unique wedding experience.

2. Include Heirlooms.  Heirlooms are our favorite “something old.”  Whether it is your grandmother’s pearls or soon to be mother-in-law’s veil, adding heirlooms remind you of the strong foundation you have to build upon.  For something different, try adding small photos of loved one that are no longer here to your bouquet or using a family treasure as a centerpiece.

3. Decorate with Photos.  A picture really is worth a thousand words.  Tell your story with imaginative picture displays. Set up a photo screen at the book table or make photo confetti to decorate tables.  Guests and family love to look at pictures so get creative and have fun.

4. Honor your Guests.  Sure they are there to celebrate you, but most of your guests have contributed to your lives and made you who you are.  Show them your appreciation by including them in one of your biggest moments. Acknowledge guests by writing small handwritten notes on each place card or pass your bridal bouquet on to the couple that has been married the longest.

5. Celebrate Traditions.  Starting a new life doesn’t mean forgetting the old one.  Ask both sides what traditions they observe at weddings and include at least one from each family.

Do you have any suggestions on how to add personal touches to a wedding?  We would love to hear them and so would all the busy brides!  Leave us a comment below.

Press Release: DFW Brides Have New Online One-Stop Shop Alternative

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HIGHLAND VILLAGE, Texas, July 29,2011—Metroplex brides and grooms can now take their wedding planning and purchasing online with the launch of the area’s only wedding e-commerce site this week.  OneTwoIDo.com combines everything from the venue to the cake and everything in between in a convenient one-stop online shop.

Amy Alsaffar, founder and president of OneTwoIDo.com, created the concept of an online wedding shop after planning her own wedding in 2008 proved time consuming and antiquated.

“Planning and purchasing a wedding today remains a bit outdated regardless of the masses of information and resources available online,” adds Alsaffar.  “I saw this challenge as a great opportunity to bring together all the quality professionals brides and grooms usually contract for their big day in one place and offer them in an online format that today’s web-savvy shoppers expect.”

OneTwoIDo.com partners with some of the most trusted and experienced vendors in the Dallas / Fort Worth area, allowing the customer to contract with numerous wedding professionals, often under a single transaction.

“We are excited to partner with OneTwoIDo.com to offer this convenient option to metroplex brides,” said Ron Sexton, owner of Complete Music DJ, Video & Photo and vendor of OneTwoIDo.com. “It is a great platform for our company to reach out to web-oriented customers.”
